Descriptors: Apricot, Citrus, Peach

Albarino a grape that can produce a wine in varied styles from crisp light and dry to rich full and creamy. The grapes are grown in Portugal's VinhoVerde as well as Spain's Galicia regions.

 

Descriptors: Cherry, Plum, Red Current,

Barbera an Italian grape that produces wines with ripe fruit flavors and hints of smokiness.  Naturally an acidic grape, it has enjoyed success in two regions in Italy,  Barbera d' Asti and Barbera d' Alba each showing

 a different style of the grape. Also it has shown some success in California alone or used as a blend.

 

Descriptors: Blackberry, Liquorice, Black Current

Blaufrankisch the grape and the area is new to many wine palates. Widely planted in Austria and in Hungary, where it is called Kekfrancos. It produces wines that range in style from light to medium and sweet to dry with balanced acidity making it wonderful and versatile with foods.

 

Descriptors: Cherry, black cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry and herbaceous.

Cabernet Franc is similar in style and flavor to Cabernet Sauvignon.  It is grown in cooler climates and usually ripens early.  In Bordeaux, France Cabernet Franc is often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Carmenere

Descriptors: peach, apricot, nuts, flowers and honey.

Chenin Blanc is the most planted grape is South Africa.  The variety produces sparkling wine, dry white wine to very concentrated from noble rot.  Chenin Blanc is very aromatic and has a natural acidity.

Colombard

Descriptors: Ripe Berries, Sweet fruity, Acidic

Dolcetto another Italian grape which produces a wine with natural acidity that when made well is balance with ripe fresh fruit giving it a hint of sweetness even though it is vivified dry..
