HUNGARY
Hungary? There's no place on this earth that can escape
the wrath of wine grapes. Yes, the classic wine grapes are also
grown in Hungary. Why not, it's part of the Mediterranean culture.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot; name the grape, it's
probably cultivated. But the grapes of interest would be native to
the region, like Blaufrankish-red, Olasz Riesling or the infamous
Furmint grape, which you will know by the name "Tokay", Hungary's
esteemed dessert wine.
Hungary wine regions have yet to be explored by the western
world, but look out, the wines are slowly building up steam and can
rival some of the wines we are most familiar with. Areas of particular
interest, try them all if you come across wines from Hungary. Below
are wines from this area you can purchase from us.

Pincebor Blaufrankish
A semi-sweet red with a surprising taste. Flavors of strawberry
or raspberry with a light to medium mouth-feel. It almost as flavors
or a lighter style of Merlot and Pinot Noir. Very versatile with many foods.
It also makes a good Aperitif.
